Summer 2008
Our Dear Friends,
We trust that this belated letter will convey in a small way how appreciative we are of your interest in our family and ministry. So much has happened since we wrote to you at Christmas 2007.
FAMILY. We are so happy to share with you that on February 12th Rachel and Tristan became the proud parents of a healthy 7lb 6oz boy, William James, and our second grandson. We thank God for this new family unit. A service of thanksgiving is being planned on September 21st at Strouden Park Chapel, Bournemouth.
Following our May visit to Treasure Cay Matthew, Wendy and Benjamin came home with us for three weeks. What a joy it was to have our family together. This gave our Bahamian family the opportunity to enjoy our green and pleasant land and to reconnect with family and friends. We plan to include a family photo with our next letter! Meanwhile if you have access you can see us on our web site!
MINISTRY. This has been a very full year of meetings and we just highlight a few in order to encourage you to continue to remember us at the Throne of Grace.
The three Culm Valley Crusade Choir Charity concerts were very much appreciated and over 40 booklets were requested by those either seeking salvation or a deeper relationship with the Saviour.
Kathryn has been kept very busy with Ladies meetings and Rallies as well as the Monday night Christian Endeavour meetings. She also serves on the Devon Bible Teaching Conference committee and in March we enjoyed the ministry of the Revd Ian Coffey and Dr Patrick Sookhdeo. Derek Bingham is booked for next year DV.
David has been the chairman and speaker at Choir concerts and in June at the Exmouth Pavilion joined with the Exeter Male Voice Praise, the Torbay Gospelaires, Peter Reynolds and family from Wales when 500 people gathered for a feast of Gospel presentation. This time 41 booklets, “How can God accept me?” by Gerard Chrispin were requested.
Four times a year we are privileged to conduct a short service at Pegasus Court here in Exeter where we have made a number of friends. Invitations to conduct mid week Bible studies takes David into many churches.
More recently he spoke to a group of 39 men at a breakfast meeting of Devon Men for Christ at the Eggesford Garden Centre. We thank God for these and the many other opportunities to minister the Word in a variety of settings.
Our May visit to Treasure Cay was delightful and most encouraging. Congregations were not large as it is the “low” season but we met a number of vacationers and endeavoured to visit as many of the local residents as possible. On the two middle Sundays we went to the Community Church at Green Turtle Cay and spoke at two services which was a wonderful experience. In the Will of God they have invited us to spend the Month of August with them next year.
As we write this letter we are busy preparing for our August visit to New Vision Ministries in Marsh Harbour, Abaco. We are really looking forward to being with our many friends there.
Another highlight on the calendar is the Bi-Annual Conference in Switzerlad when GOM Europe based missionaries gather for a great time of ministry and fellowship. Dr Erwin Lutzer of Moody Bible Church, Chicago is the main speaker.
The Global Outreach Mission family continues to grow and you can see more on the web site.
Also growing is the number of churches and individuals using the Good News paper. David is now supplying some 1500 papers each Month.
It is time to sign off and to wish you God’s richest blessing
In His glad service,
