August 2007
Our Dear Friends,
We greet you in the Name of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ!
The time has come for us to share with you our itinerary for the next few Months and to update you with Family and Ministry news.
FAMILY. We are pleased to report that we are all keeping well. We were delighted to visit with Matthew, Wendy and Benjamin to and from our visit to Spanish Wells in April and May. Benjamin took only a few seconds to settle with us and subsequently some bonding took place. By the time you receive this letter he will be 18 Months old-lively and lovely. We are waiting for him to call us Grandad and Grandma!! Matthew and Wendy are doing extremely well and involved in leading the Youth Work at their church.
Rachel and Tristan who are both keeping well, were able to make a visit to Nassau in May so, we were all together for a short but precious time.
MINISTRY. Meetings since Christmas have taken us into over 40 churches and fellowships. During August we are at the Seaside Gospel Chapel at Guana Cay, Abaco and really looking forward to being with these precious people. Variety is the spice of life so the saying goes and, we certainly have variety. We are so very grateful for these open doors and thank God for the rich fellowship we have enjoyed. Hospital and home visitation also keeps us busy and presents us with evangelistic and pastoral opportunities.
From our Christmas letter you will have noted that during May we were scheduled to be at the New Life Bible Church, Man-O-War Cay, Abaco but, in answer to prayer and in the Will of God they called a full time Pastor so, no longer required our services.
The Methodist Church at Spanish Wells, where we were last May, invited us to return as soon as possible which, according to our diary would have been at least 2009. So, emails were sent and the church had four Sundays available! Just right for us! My, how we enjoyed those four weeks, the people of Spanish Wells and in particular the congregation at the Methodist Church. As well as the Sunday services we shared in a variety of meetings and visited a lot of wonderful people. During our stay the Church held its Annual Fair, which was something to behold! We attended the opening and naming of a new bridge and the naming of a road by the then Prime Minister. We thoroughly enjoyed the excitement of the General Election and attended a political rally and subsequently the thanksgiving celebration as the opposition party celebrated their victory.
On our way home whilst staying in Nassau we were able to catch up with a lot of friends and fellowship at three churches including Calvary Bible Church where we ministered from 1972-1978.
We continue to act as an agent for the Good News Paper and currently handle 1,140 copies each Month. The paper is such a good evangelistic tool and bridge builder.
What an encouragement it is to receive letters and phone calls from friends far and near assuring us of their prayer support. We really appreciate your prayerful interest in our family and ministry.
God bless you. Yours in His glad service,
David and Kathryn.
