July 2005
Our Dear Friends,
We greet you warmly in the name of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ!
We are writing this letter after completing a month of ministry at Great Guana Cay. This proved to be the most fruitful visit thus far. What a joy it was to be back on Bahamian soil and to renew friendship and fellowship with so many cherished friends. Of particular joy was the opportunity to share and preach at Calvary Bible Church in the evening of April 24th and to have fellowship with Pastor Allan and Nancy Lee.
Needless to say we had wonderful Christmas and New Year celebrations with Matthew and Wendy. Rachel paid a surprise visit, which caused us all to rejoice. On December 28th she and her boyfriend Tristan announced their engagement much to our delight and thankfulness to God. Early in the New Year they stated that they wished to marry in 2005! The date has been set for Saturday November 12th in Bournemouth where they both live, worship and work.
Our various ministries have kept us very busy over recent months and we certainly appreciate your prayerful interest. Souls have been saved, backsliders restored and responses made for various areas of Christian service. PTL!
We have had many visitors to our home during which times Kathryn has been able to use her culinary skills. Our monthly prayer plus lunch meetings have been well attended and a great blessing. The new president of Global Outreach Mission, Dr. Brian Albrecht, was our most recent guest as he met with the UK trustees, missionaries and prayer partners.
The ‘Good News’ paper circulation has increased to 600 copies per month and is a great evangelistic tool and bridge builder.
Kathryn is still very active speaking at ladies’ meetings and each Monday night as a leader in the Christian Endeavour outreach to unchurched children. She visits hospitals and homes and finds many open doors of opportunity and much joy in serving others. Right now she is busy preparing for the Girl’s Camp, July 23rd-30th, as she not only will be leading the morning sessions but also prepares worksheets for the girls’ quiet time, competitions and inter-tent activities. As Padre she will have a great deal of spiritual input into the lives of up to 80 girls aged 10-14 years with a variety of backgrounds.
You will notice that in October we pay our third visit to Man-O-War Cay and the New Life Bible Church. We count it such a privilege and look forward to a time of great blessing.
In December David will be speaking at not two but three Culm Valley Choir charity concerts. These are evangelistic events. Last year 62 booklets were requested over the two nights.
We have run out of space, so finally may we humbly request that you remember us and our family in prayer. In particular: the Girl’s Camp, Man-O-War Cay, Rachel & Tristan’s wedding, the choir concerts and our dealings with many unsaved people.
So once again, we praise Him for all that is past and trust Him for all that’s to come! With very many thanks and much love.
David, Kathryn and Rachel Cole
